Re: 169.x.x.x

Hello,

the 169.x.x.x range is the Microsoft automatic private (local link) address range.

If the IP address starts with 169, it means the computer has tried but was unable to get an IP address dynamically. The computer will set itself to a 169.x.x.x address in this instance.

HTH,

Re: 169.x.x.x

Just a small correction:

it is 169.254.0.0/16 which is reserved for the situation described and not 169.0.0.0/8.

Regards

Martin
