Hi,
I was searching for a couple for serial crossover cables for my lab. I'm particular in buying the WIC-1T to WIC-2T serial cable but saw 2 different models: CAB-6026X vs CAB-SS-2660X.
Could someone advice the right part number or are they compatible or can mix with each other? I tried searching for an answer online but only resulted to online shops. TIA and happy 2014!

Hi,
Your wic-2t needs a cisco smart type cable.
These are 26 pin connectors at the router end
Your wic-1t uses the standard cisco 60 pin connector.
So lets say you make the wic-1t end the dce and hence providing the clock
and utilising X21 as its layer 1 standard.
WIC-1T === Cable CAB-X21-FC
WIC-2T === Cable CAB-SS-X21MT
You will need to know if you want layer 1 as X21,V35 etc
Plenty info on these links

hi alex,
thanks for your reply! but let me re-phrase my question.
i saw CAB-6026X and CAB-SS-2660X serial cables posted on ebay.
i plan a FR switch using NM-8A/S which uses 60-pin female.
the other end is a router with WIC-2T, so which cable type to use? just wanna make sure what to buy.

John,
Just use the same as I explained above.
Make your router with the NM-8A/S run as the FR switch and configure these ports as DCE/Provide clock use cable
Cable CAB-X21-FC
On the router with the WIC-2T use cable Cable CAB-SS-X21MT configure as the DTE and take clock from line.
The cable CAB-X21-FC is presented as 15 way female (X21)
The cable CAB-SS-X21MT is presented as 15 way male (X21)
When you use an NM-8A/S you will need to keep the clock speeds down
Running as sync mode (you need this) you can only go as high as 128K

Hope thisd helps
Just join the male to female

Alex.

Sorry for the late reply on this, but I had the same question myself, so did some checking. It looks like the different numbers are for which end is the DCE side and which is the DTE side. You probably found all this out years ago, but posting in case someone else has the same question:
