Hey guys,
I erased my flash by mistake, how do i fix this???
This is the error i get when i boot up.
device does not contain a valid magic number
boot: cannot open "flash:"
boot: cannot determine first file name on device "flash:"
???

I have hyper terminal into the router via a console cable. What commands exactly do i need to type for the 1701??? I am lost here please help.

Hi Sunny,
If there is no IOS router will move to rommon and the only option left is to xmodem.

I am out of warrenty, can i still do xmodem??
How does it work???
Does it use a standard 56k modem to download from the web???
Can some please guide me on how to do it on the 1701 step by step please.

Hi Sunny,
For xmodem you do not need any warrenty. But yes you have to download image from Cisco.com and for that you may need to have valid cco login.
Also if you have image already with you then you cn start xmodem procedure. The link which I posted in my previous post has step by step instructions for xmodem procedure.
