How does traffic know to go out the Primary WAN link

Hi Folks,

This is a simple question but one that has been confusing me for a while now; Please see the attached diagram.

Can anyone explain to me, how does traffic know to go out the Primary WAN link in this case and not to go out the Backup link when using EIGRP?

Is there any sample configuration guide that I can reference, or something that will explain it for me?

From what I understand, EIGRP will see the Primary MPLS circuit with a higher bandwidth (how?) and will always use this link...???

There is no attachment, also please post a sh run output or sh ip route of your router.

Thanks,

EIGRP basics explained in the following document:

For your specific topology, we would need the diagram and configuration
