I have about 50 routers and I need to get the age of each.  I thought I can get the date from the serial number but unfortunately not.  Also attempted router# show rsp chassis command but that is not an available command on any of my routers.  any other way.  Physically going to each router is not an option.

Hi Rodger,

check 'sh ver' and find the 'system serial number'. It will be the format LLLYYWWSSSS

YY is the year of manufacture

WW is the week of manufacture

cheers,

Seb.

I should add the year codes are sequential:

01 = 1997

02 = 1998

03 = 1999

04 = 2000

05 = 2001

06 = 2002

07 = 2003

08 = 2004

09 = 2005

10 = 2006

11 = 2007

12 = 2008

13 = ....

So what would this be?

***1337****

2009 week 37

cheers,

Seb.

Hi,

It seems it is possible to get the age out of the S/N:  https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2004382
