Hi all, I am putting a backup router in my network, due to some funny ip addresses on the interfaces (each router has 2), I was told to put each interface into a seperate group, so only the 2 interfaces that need to talk to each other, is this the best way, that way we get interface redundancy rather than the whole router ?

You should put one ethernet from each router in one HSRP group and the other ethernet interfaces in another HSRP group. I suggest you read up on HSRP at http://cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/tk321/tsd_technology_support_sub-protocol_home.html
