Router interface protocol is down

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue with with my router in packet tracer. I'm done with all configurations and I also connected a host to the router but the line protocol is still down. I don't know what i did wrong.

The whole network is from chapter 8 (ip routing)  in the Todd Lammle book "CCNA Routing and Switching".

I have attached an image showing my network.

In the image, the router labeled "corp" is connected to the "LA" and "SF" router through serial interfaces while the hosts are connected to the fast ethernet interface. I have also configure static ip route in all three routers. The serial interfaces seem to be fine, but then i can't reach the interface that the hosts are connected when i ping the network.

Please can someone help me with a solution.

Thanks

Lucas

Your interface fa0/0 on router is in up down state. So it can't work.
- change cable type to cross-over
- speed and duplex to auto on router - or - you need to change speed and duplex accordingly on PC.

Hi

do the pcs have a default gateway set

what static routes do you have in place

Hi Mark Malone,

I didn't set a default gateway on the pcs.

I set the ip configuration on the pcs to recieve ip through dhcp.

The "Corp" router is configured as a DHCP server and it's meant to offer ip addresses to the pcs in the "LA" and "SF" LAN

The static routes are

Corp router configuration:

Corp(config)#ip route 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.2 150
Corp(config)#ip route 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0 s0/1 150

SF router configuration:

SF(config)#ip route 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.1 150
SF(config)#ip route 172.16.10.4 255.255.255.252 172.16.10.1 150
SF(config)#ip route 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.1 150

LA router configuration:

LA(config)#ip route 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.5 150
LA(config)#ip route 172.16.10.0 255.255.255.252 172.16.10.5 150
LA(config)#ip route 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.5 150

I've also included a zip file containing a packet tracer file of the network. console password is console

Thanks crni00000 i changed the cross-over cable and the duplex to auto and everything is all good now.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!
