Hi everyone,
I have a pub & sub call managers. When I ping (from the win 2000 servers) the localhost(127.0.0.1), it's ip, it's gateway, other ip in it's subnet, & even other ip on other network on the same switch, the results are all 10ms.
ex:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
I want to know if these are normal results.
Can anyone w/ Call manager pls. show me their results? So that I can know if this is normal.

Hi,
Windows 2000 will always show "<10ms" if it's less than 10ms, otherwise it will show the actual latency in ms if its greater than 10ms.

Yes, and windows XP will show <1 ms if the response is less than 1 ms, and will show the other values if it is higher.
By contrast on linux the response times are more exact and are in tens of ms.
Cisco devices shows the whole miliseconds.
You could find the EXACT times if you would sniff the packets with packet sniffer, like Wireshark. There you could pinpoint the delay up to the microsecond value.
