stacking-partner in cisco3825

hi, i need help..

trying to stacks 2x NM-ESW-16 using

switchport stacking-partner cmd,

show interface gi1/0 switchport resulted as..

stack is active, interface is up but protocol is down. whats the problem? i can ping host in different module (means packet cant go thru stacks?)

It is normal to see "UP DOWN" on the interfaces used for stacking.

It is normal to see "UP DOWN" on the interfaces used for stacking. And as per the document if you remove stacking then the stacked ports will go to shutdown state. Basically when stacking is removed the stacked ports will move from "UP DOWN" to "DOWN DOWN" status.
