telnet failed

Hi,

Does someone know if it's possible to acess to terminal console via AUX port of cisco 800 routers ?

for my router, this is the output of show command :

Must i configure the port aux or cons before using it ?

Re: Using rolled cable via AUX and console ports

Is there a reason why you want to use the aux port instead of just using the console port to access the router's console? If you want to use the console port all you have to do is plug in your rollover cable to the console port on the router and connect the other end to an rj-45->DB9 or rj-45->USB which then plugs into your PC.

You can then open hyperterminal and set the settings to default. Or as outlined in the diagram above and hit connect.

That document also explains how to set up the AUX port. Generally though, the console port is the easiest way of getting into the console. Let me know if you need any more help.
