WIC-1DSU-T1

Hi,

I'm putting together a CCNA/CCNP lab and I have two 1720's with WIC-1DSU-T1 interface cards. Can I connect the two 1720's with the WIC-1DSU-T1 interfaces like you would with serial ports? Do I need an ethernet cable with any special pinouts? Thanks.

Hi Martin

As per the cable specs its general 1,2 & 4,5 combination which carries both Tx/Rx signals.

You can try connecting 1,2/4,5 on one end and reversing the same at the other end.

Agree with Edwin, i think that i've tried this before, but make sure that one of the 2 ends is supplying the clocking using the "service-module t1 clock source internal" command, and the other having "service-module t1 clock source line", please check this document:

Yes you can do this. I do this in my home lab to simulate a WAN T-1 connection. You will been to make a "T-1 crossover cable".
