1000 Series - Repeater??

Hi

Anyone know if it's possible to use repeaters in a 1000 series/WLC airespace installation?

E.g. have some access points powered by mains, not attached to the wired network?

I've seen references to mesh networks using 1500 series, where the BG radio gives client access, and the A radio forms the 'backbone' which tunnels traffic back.

Is it possible to do anything like this with a 1000 series?

Thanks

Aaron

Hey Aaron,

You are looking for APs that supports REAP.

And this AP would act as a PAP.

From the controller you can access the AP and in the details you will see a check box for REAP support if the unit supports this feature.

Remote Edge lightweight Access Point (REAP)- used for Cisco Aironet 1030 IEEE 802.11a/b/g remote edge lightweight access points

PAP: PAPs have no wired connection to a Cisco controller. They can be completely wireless supporting clients, communicating to other PAPs and a RAP

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron
