1200 ap and Dell Latitude D600 no wireless network found

I have a strange problem with 3 Dell Latitude D600 Laptops out of 15. Their not able to find the wireless network. All drivers and settings are current and exactly the same setup as the 12 Laptops that are accessing the network. Any ideas why these 3 laptops are being stubborn? The laptops use WLAN 1350 mini PCI cards. The 3 laptops report the hardware is working properly. I'm confused!! No one else is having a problem. WinXP Pro by the way. Thanks in advance for any advice.

If the wireless NICs are added (versus installed as purchased), check the antenna connection on the NIC.

A quick check would be to move the laptops close to the AP and see if they can connect. If so, then peel 'em and re-seat the antenna connection.

The connectors are so small and tight, it's frequently difficult to get them squarely on the mating connector (on the NIC pcb).

The two antenna cables are very thin, usually white and black. Work very carefully with them, donn't pull on them too hard or twist or kink 'em.

You could just have flakey NICs too, try swapping with one of the working units.

Good Luck
