I thought I did all my research on this but it seems that I didn't. I am trying to deploy 4 1310 AP's managed by WLSE Express and running into a little problem setting up WDS. Now it is foggy and in small print but it seems that the 1300's cannot be set as the WDS unlike the 1200's. So that said in a 1300 only deployment what other options do I have for setting WDS.
Its foggy and I am still testing this but it seems that it supports WDS (as client) in access mode but cannot be set as the WDS server. I can see disabling the feature in some functions (repeater) but disabling WDS server functions even in access mode seems.....
So yeah WLSE does not require WDS to do some basic management but the main functions do require it (which is why anyone would buy it). So in an 100% outdoor deployment of AP's unless you have a WLSM your outta luck no WDS server. Someone tell me I am wrong even if you go to the tech docs section for the 1300's it shows an example of how to setup WDS oh then read further "not for the 1300's"!?. It just seems that for a flagship product like the 1310 either a WLSE warning or something would be nice in basic docs so you don't have to figure this out when you are about to deploy the product. Although this is my first Cisco install so I guess it could just be me.
I guess if it seems like if it can "participate" in WDS you could use a 1200 series as the primary WDS master and a 1200 for secondary. If you only deploy the 1300's w/no WLSM, you are really kinda of out of luck. Hmmm... Sounds like they are pushing you towards the WLSM with it. Thanks Sam for confirming that it works as a participant. I have an installation that requires both 1242's and 1310's.

This is the start of a display filter cross reference between Wireshark and OmniPeek.
The 1st installment is a table of advanced filters. More filters will be added as time allows.

The script should be completely self explanatory.
