1600 series Access Point. Simultaneous dual-band? Multi-SSID?

Hi everyone,

Researching the 1600 series access point and on this link:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps12555/data_sheet_c78-715702.html

I can't find the answers to:

  1. Are thesse AP's simultaneous dual-band? They work on both 2.4 and 5Ghz at the same time or I must select?
  2. Is it multi-SSID? Can I do SSID to tagged vlan traffic? If so how many?

Thanks very much

If it is a 1602, then yes it is 2.4GHz and 5GHz capable, if it is a 1601, then it is only 2.4GHz capable.

Yes, you can have mulitple SSID, up to 16, but you really want to keep the number of SSID to a minimum 2-3 max IMO.  The AP does allow you to call out a VLAN in your SSID config and map that SSID to a L2 VLAN.
