Hello,

1. Set a Static IP

2. Apply & Save Configuration

3. After Reboot the IP is correct.

Then do Reset to Defaults Except IP in the WEB Gui.

After Reboot the AP loos the static IP and get a DHCP Address.

Reset to Defaults Except IP = Reset to Defaults !

Whats Wrong ?

Can you add a static and then just reboot the AP. Just want to compare the output. Don't reset to default.

Also can you post the show ip int brief before and after.

Cant find the add static command.

Hi

I think Scott mean configure a static IP on your BVI1 interface & save the config & reload. Something like this.

ap#conf t

ap(config)#int bvi1

ap(config-if)#ip add 10.16.33.33 255.255.254.0

ap(config-if)#end

!

write mem

!

reload

See wether IP address get dissapear after reload

Thank you Rasika,

Here is the BVI1 after Reload.

BVI1 is up, line protocol is up 1 00:00:29.675: not a autoconf

Hardware is BVI, address is 10f3.11c2.2e3a (bia 10f3.11c2.2e3a)

*Mar  1 00:00:31.675: %LINK-6-UPDOWN: Interface Gigabi

  Internet address is 10.16.33.100/23

  MTU 1500 bytes, BW 54000 Kbit/sec, DLY 50

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If I set the BVI1 Interface over cli or gui the ip parameter are saved correkt and the ap

after boot or reload have the correkt ip.

The problem is the "Reset to Defaults (Except IP)" Button on Gui.

If i click the button the ap set all parameters to defaults and the BVI1 to DHCP.

But "Except IP" shold be not change the ip !

Ok, If you have tested it & everytime behaviour is same (you loose the IP config once you do this via GUI) it may be GUI related bug.

You can try this with different IOS image (upgading or downgrading) & see whether behavioiur is same ? if not it may be specific to the code you are running.

The Version is: ap3g2-k9w7-xx.152-4.JB3a

It´s definitly a gui related bug.

Insted a "reset to defaults except ip" i load a default config with correct ip settings.

Hope this bug will be solved in the future.

Hi,

These are the only Open Caveats in 15.2(4) JB3a:

Open Caveats

CSCud51131 CLI required to configure IPv6 SNTP server addresses.

CSCue53185 The allowed frequencies are repeated in show controllers dot111 command for Japan regdomain.

CSCuf85579 Multicast downstream fails on a wlan client with security wpa2-tkip on enabling broadcast key rotation.

CSCui79550 GUI IP Protocol 119 column missing on the QoS policies page.

CSCuj62328 Apple client is not associating with 11r SSID.

CSCul91975 WGB may disconnect permanently after max retry of 802.11 probe.

If you can reproduce this BUG then U can raise a TAC case, it may help to other.

Downgrade the version to v12.4... v15 is no good... Too many complaints with the newer version. The latest v12.4 is what you should use.

Well they use to have a v12.4 for the ap3g2 AP's you can use... They removed it. So now you just have to try one of the other v15 code versions. The newer code is awful and I have no idea why they went that route.

Ah now I remember... The radios for the 1262's and the 3600's were the same, so you were able to load the 1262 code into the 3600. I'm guessing since the 3600 is the higher version of the 2nd gen you might be able to use it on the 2600 also. If I have time today I'll test that.

Is defaulting the AP except for an IP something you really want to work? I mean you can write erase on the CLI and put the static back on and personally, autonomous AP's should be configured from the CLI. Just wondering if you want to go through the hassle if upgrading or downgrading because of that one issue. I would be worried a both other issues that might affect production.
