2702i convert to Autonomous mode

Hi netpro,

I am having some difficulties trying to get a new 2702i to convert into standalone / autonomous mode.

I've done what most articles say you should do. First SSH into AP, have it pull the ios file that needs to be renamed to .default. (full name :ap3g2-k9w8-tar.default)

What happens is that the AP begins pulling from the TFTP and then restarts. However when it restarts i can not ssh back into the AP.

I see it pulls the same IP or a different IP, but i can not ssh or get webaccess into the AP. Console doesn't work at all either. I am using a usb to console cable that i know works. Here is the log upon downloading the new file from the tftp

APf8c2.88bc.75fc#archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp://192.168.1.147/ap3g2-k9w8-tar.default

Hi,Be aware that the

Hi,

Be aware that the autonomous IOS for the 2700 has limited functionality. Because the 2700 is new, the autonomous IOS is for wireless site-survey only.  It's not meant to service clients as of yet.

You are extracting ap3g2-k9w8-tar.default image from tftp and this image type is not right to convert to Autonomous.

(k9w7 is Autonomous Image), you need to download this image.

Where did you find the autonomous ios download? I've searched the Cisco site and can't find it in the download section.

you need to download from another AP model, for example go to the 2600 series and you will see the option to download the Autonomous AP IOS Software. Here is a direct link :
