3702i won't join 5508 controller. 3602i works.

I have over 100 new 3702i AP's and cannot get them to join.

used DHCP and static addresses and provided controller IP "capwap ap conroller ip address 10.23.180.20" nothing seems to work.

output from ap:

Well the AP has a mesh config

Well the AP has a mesh config, so you need to add the mac address to the mac filter list so the AP can join and then change the mode to local.  The code is the same.

From what I can see this ios

From what I can see this ios  (AP3G2-K9W8-M), is for mesh AP's. Do I need to change this? Did Cisco send me AP's with the wrong os?

Thanks

Well the AP has a mesh config

Well the AP has a mesh config, so you need to add the mac address to the mac filter list so the AP can join and then change the mode to local.  The code is the same.

I'm having the same issue I

I'm having the same issue I believe. The AP is booting up and trying to setup in a mesh mode when we are not configured for mesh mode on our 5508. Question I have is we don't have any MAC filters in place currently on our 5508 and I have 69 active APs that are in production. Would following the steps you suggest (i.e. adding a MAC filter for the AIR-CAP3702I) cause an implicit deny to all other MAC addresses and cause an outage to my 69 other APs and their clients? If so what is the work around for getting these APs that are booting up with mesh mode from the factory. I have over 30 to bring up and configure and they're all coming up in mesh mode instead of local. Is there any way to change this setting locally on the AP via CLI?

That was it. Thanks

That was it. Thanks

Change the mode to local mode

Change the mode to local mode and then Add the mac address to the mac filter list so the AP can join.
