3750 Wireless Controller + LA

Thinking of acquiring the 3750 with integrated wireless controller and a few APs.

Was wondering whether the APs need to be connected directly to the 3750?

Else, how do they communicate?

thx

Re: 3750 Wireless Controller + LA

They can connect to any switch that shares the switch fabric.

For example:

Switch A is the vtp server, you create a wireless management vlan, then you configure the 3750 swith as a vtp client in the same vtp domain as the vtp server. You will also create the trunk ports for the 3750/WLC communications and then you will place any switch port that an AP connects to on any switch in the vtp domain and then configure that particular port in access mode and placed in the wireless management vlan.

That is the most simplistic way of doing it, there are other options such as h-reap, but a quick view of the cisco docs will give you some guidance.
