I was wondering if someone could help with a Wireless 3G antenna problem.
I currently have a Cisco 1841 Series router which came with a "Multiband Swivel-Mount Dipole Antenna". I have attached a Sim card to the module as explained in the manual and have unlocked the Sim card on the CLI prompt. I have also set up profile 1 (the default profile) to store the correct APN for the 3G network. Usually for 3G phones this is all that is needed and the rest is gathered by the Service Providers DNS etc and internet connectivity occurs. However once this is configured I try to ping http://www.google .com for example and it comes up with the error message â%Unrecognized host or address, or protocol not runningâ.
I can only assume by looking at the cellular configuration; shown below; (show cellular 0/1/0 all) that the profile 1 is not active and thus the router is not using it as a default route for internet. Does anyone know how I would go about setting up the 3G card as the default route out of the router, I have done the obvious.
Set an IP for the Fa interface, set one for the Cellular module and the used the command âip default route <cellular ip>â
