So the ap has joined the wlc? Did you create an SSID and make sure the admin status of the ap is enabled? The log doesn't tell me much, but make sure the country code of the ap matches what the wlc is set for.

Hi Scott,

Yes Admin status is enabled on both APs.

Country code is same ...

(Cisco Controller) >show ap join stats summary all

Number of APs.............................................. 2

Base Mac             AP EthernetMac       AP Name                 IP Address         Status
00:13:60:e7:ef:00    00:13:7f:28:8e:c3    WOECAP02                10.41.80.12        Joined
00:13:60:e8:00:d0    00:13:7f:28:8e:c5    WOECAP01                10.41.80.11        Joined

you can see the output.

Regards

Where does your AP get an ip address from?

It should be on same VLAN as management/AP manager interfaces if it is direclty connected.

Check the best practices here:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-11760

What is your APs model?
what is your WLC code version?

HI Amjad..

The ap is getting ip from another interface (Barcoding).

Interface NameVLAN IdentifierIP AddressInterface Type

ap model 1232

Wlc 2106.

Hi Sandeep,

I did not understand where the AP get an IP from. What do you mean by it gets it from another interface? what do you mean by barcoding here?

What is the software versoin on the controller?

Rating useful replies is more useful than saying "Thank you"

Software version is 6.0.196.0.

yes you were righr they are getting the ip same as managemnt vlan.

like management wlan have 10.41.80.1....

so my are getting 10.41.80.11 and 12

I can ping WLC but can not reach APs.

Regards

Can you post your show run-config

I think you have AP WOECAP01 joined successfully, right?

Where is your DHCP server configured?

Please provide output from CLI:
> show interface summary.

Does you have the AP converted from autonomous mode?

HI Amjad:

(Cisco Controller) >show interface summary

Interface Name                   Port Vlan Id  IP Address      Type    Ap Mgr Guest
-------------------------------- ---- -------- --------------- ------- ------ -----
ap-manager                       1    80       10.41.80.2      Static  Yes    No
barcoding                        1    81       10.41.81.1      Dynamic No     No
management                       1    80       10.41.80.1      Static  No     No
virtual                          N/A  N/A      10.41.21.254    Static  No     No

Your AP-manager and management interfaces is mapped to port 1:

ap-manager                       1    80       10.41.80.2      Static  Yes    No

only APs connected to port 1 will work.

You need to either use a switch and keep port 1 connected to it while APs join through the switch or you need to create a new ap-manager interface. not even sure if you can map it to the same port or different port! not even sure about the management interface!! it is mapped to port 1 and should be reachable anyway. it is a mess!!! have you read the best practice document that I put the link for earlier?

So you need eventually a switch to fix your issue. direclty connected APs are not recommended.
I am still not knowing how Cisco provided such swtich that is supposed to handle direclty connected Aps while it does not provide a smooth way to do so.

Use a switch and everything supposed to be fine.

HTH

Amjad

HI Amjad ...before today....everythingw as working fine.......suddenly...what happend ....

we do not have power adaptor seperately.so we are using with WLC.

Well your AP is up and you should see the AP in the WLC.  Did you asign an ssid and have the SSID enabled?  I don't see the full config.

Hi scott,

Here is the full config og WLC...see the attachment.

Okay, so the AP operational status is down.  Can you try to disable and then enable the admin status.

config ap disable WOECAP01

config ap enable WOECAP01

show ap config general WOECAP01
