I have two XP machines; the desktop connected to the Internet via a DSL modem and has a Aironet 350 PCI adaptor and a laptop with an Aironet 350 PC card adaptor running as an ad-hoc setup. I have the latest drivers and firmware.
The connection works but the trouble is that if the connection is lost or if the laptop goes on standby and is then restarted, the connection can not be re-established. Neither machine can see the other (even when they are next to each other). I have tried everything (refreshing, etc) but the only solution is to reboot the desktop and then the connection is detected automatically. This makes the setup useless.
Did you check to see if this software bug is listed on bug toolkit yet? Can you remove and reinstall the card after it wakes to restore connectivity? How about IPCONFIG /RENEW at the command prompt? Just a few things worth trying.
