Air-AP1220B series

I am trying to set up this 1220B AP so I can browse to its configuration screen however I can't establish a connection even though I believe I have the AP and my PC configured correctly. Here are the settings:

AP Settings

IP 10.0.0.1 SN 255.255.255.224 manually set

PC directly connected to the AP through the ethernet port (cable confirmed to be good):

IP 10.0.0.2 SN 255.255.255.224

Even with these settings and a direct ethernet cable connection I cannot even Ping the AP.

I did a show run and the configuration is correct. The ip http server is enabled.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Air-AP1220B series

Hi Robert,

Can you please try a cross-over cable. I remember some of the AP's require this.

Hope this helps!

Rob

Yup, 1220s definitely require a cross-over.

Re: Air-AP1220B series

The AP's IP address goes on the BVI interface, not the Ethernet interface.

Make sure you are plugging into the Ethernet port, not the console port ... both are RJ-45 and side-by-side ... easy to miss one for the other.

Check your software firewall for correct permissions.

Check your speed/duplex settings and/or plug both into a switch.

Plug into the console and see what messages are popping up when you plug the Ethernet cable in.

The crossover cable suggestions are probably your best start.

Good Luck

Scott
