My Light Weight APs 1262N-N-K9 APs are not being discovered by CT 5500 controller. I am using a Cisco Catalyst 2960 with PoE switch to connect Light Weight APs to Controller 5500.
Can I use the 5500 controller's internal management interface as DHCP server to assign IPs to APs?
Pls. help.

Have you configured any WLC discovery methods ? Here are the 4 methods available
1. DHCP Option 43
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_configuration_example09186a00808714fe.shtml
2. DNS
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_tech_note09186a00806c9e51.shtml
3. Broadcast forwarding
http://mrncciew.com/2013/05/04/wlc-discovery-via-broadcast/
4. Static Configuration
http://mrncciew.com/2013/03/17/ap-registration/
You can configure internal DHCP server for this purpose (if you have small number of AP). You cannot use DHCP option 43 to discover WLC by your AP (so DNS method or Broadcast method to be used). Refer below for more detail

Can the AP ping the management interface of the WLC? If it can, then enter this command: capwap ap controller ip address
12-26-2013 11:39 PM
AP30f7.0dd8.c9ef#ping 10.1.1.10
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.1.1.10, timeout is 2 seconds:

Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)

Cool! Now we are getting somewhere.
Is the WLC link to the switch a TRUNK?
What is the interface of the switchport to the AP? Is it an access port? If so, what is the VLAN? Is the VLAN allowed?

Hi Leo,
while trying to configure CAPWAP ap ip it gives this message - You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI.
