I am very green when it comes to setting up a wireless network and would appreciate any help you can provide.
I am trying to install and use this wireless card with my Netgear router/switch. XP sees the card, but I can't seem to connect to my router. My netgear card has no problem.
I have included my 128-bit encrypted password into the configuration window, but it doesn't help.
I am allowing Windows to control my network connections.
Can anyone helpe me?
thanks in advance, grasshopper

You may need to go into Windows and uncheck the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings". Then install the Aironet Client Utilities and configrue the client adapter. The ACU should be on the installation CD that came with the client adapter. If you do not have the CD then go to the software center and download the ACU for your client adapter. http://www.cisco.com/public/sw-center/sw-wireless2.shtml
Look at your Netgear wireless device and make sure it is configured to accept association from non Netgear divices.
Here are some URLs for configuring the client adapter using Windows XP and configuring the client adapter using the ACU.

To troubleshoot the problem try the connection without WEP key and MAC Filters and so on...
Let your Netgear router broadcats the ssid, so the notebook can see the wlan.
Be sure you have the correct ip address assignment (often dhcp)
