Re: Aironet 1100

Hi,

Boot the AP, leave it for 10 mins. Don't connect a PC to the AP.

There are three LEDs - Eternet status and radio. FIG - 22.2 - http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/12.4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/s43trb.html#wp1058384

Refer to this link and try to match the LED status -

I would suggest you to reload the IOS on the AP.

Please follow the setps given in the following link -

http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/12.4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/s43trb.html#wp1038660

Please make sure that before renaming the IOS which is erquired [given in the link], on your TFTP server you go to Control Panel>Folder Options>View>Hide Extensions for known file types option is unchecked.

If not then uncheck this and then change the file name with watever is mentioned in the link.

I would also suggest you to use the following TFTP server -

Re: Aironet 1100

When you say you get the ping response, which IP address you get the response from?

Re: Aironet 1100

I am not able to understand this. Where is the DHCP server coming into picture?

Following are few of the following steps related to mode button -

Step 6 Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), and release the MODE button.

Step 8 Wait until the access point reboots as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.

Step 9 After the access point reboots, you must reconfigure the access point by using the Web-browser interface or the CLI.

Are you allowing Step 8 and 9 to happen?

Once this is done the try to ping 10.0.0.1 which would be the APs IP.

Telnet to this IP usename Cisco password Cisco.

Re: Aironet 1100

What following link? I would like to know the indicator signals.

I am also having trouble with this product,

I reserved the MAC address on DHCP and still won't connect. After leaving it alone and trying the default address which I believe is 10.0.0.1

Re: Aironet 1100

Currently my indicator siganls are rolling green, red and amber.

What does this mean because I am checking the manual and it tells me nothing on the installation guide

Re: Aironet 1100

I have power cycled the 1100 and have not connected the ethernet cable to the AP. Now I have solid RED Ethernet and Status which (indicate ethernet failure during image recovery). Does this indicate that I have a bad AP and need to get a replacement. If not how can I fix this problem?

Re: Aironet 1100

Hi, Sushil

I have followed the instructions and I am not able to connect to the AP at all. I get ping responses but I am unable to connect. It seems the as if the ap is still the using the ip address that was given to it through dhcp. Any suggestion?

Re: Aironet 1100

Re: Aironet 1100

The ip address that dhcp assigned to the ap. This is after I have held the MODE for 30 sec.
