aironet 1232 as scanner?

My aironets are individually managed, I do not have the wireless control or management appliance or software. I just read where the ap can act as a scanner. Is this useful if its a standalone ap? What will it do? Will it report or show anything about rogue ap's or anything else? Thanks in advance.

yes ap can be used as a scaner though I would still prefer Airopeek as a sniffer.
