I presently have a 12 mile point to multi-point system using an old Ap350 AP and WGB350 and WGB1310 clients. I would like to replace the AP350 with an outdoor unit but don't need the mesh capability. Would a Aironet 1522 be a good replacement and be compatible with the older clients?

yes and no. are you currently using autonomous or lightweight APs? The 1522 is a lightweight AP, so you will need a controller. other than that, yes, it should be compatible as it will do 802.11a/b/g

Hi Brad,
Thanks for your response. All of my network components are autonomous. I assume from your answer that the 1522 or 1510 will do point to multi-point with my older 350 and 1310 WGBs but it must use a controller and that it won't work in autonomous mode?
