I'm trying to test the performance of Wireless PCMCIA card Aironet 350 but I get bad results. My testbed consists of two laptop with RedHat 8.0 and ACU driver for linux. Both laptop working in ad-hoc mode. I use the nttcp program to measure the performance sending 10000 UDP packets, but the transmitter doesn't send all the packets to the receiver. This case doesn't happen when I use Windows 2000 and ACU for windows.
It could be an incompatibility issue between the Linux v8.0 and the drivers for the Aironet. Looking over the release notes for the Aironet drivers v2.0 for Linux it states that it supports kernels 2.2xx and 2.4xx. You may want to check your kernels and look at the release notes for the drivers on Cisco's Software Center http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/aironet-utils-linux.
