AP 1200 Console - Boots, logs, but does not go to cmd prompt

Hi.

Got an AP1200 - I have a blue cable console connection. I hold the mode button down, reboot, and get a console session. It logs the interfaces for a bit, but then stops and never gives a console prompt. I've tried break, ctl-c, etc...

Any suggestions.

Check if you use these port settings on your hyperterm:

Speed: 9600 bits per second (bps)

Data bits: 8

Stop bits: 1

Parity: None

Flow Control: Xon/Xoff

Hi, Holding the MODE button down on a reboot resets the AP to factory defaults.

If held for 20 to 30 secs it takes you into the Automatic IOS recovery routine for putting a new IOS image on a AP after a fail. (If held for 20-30 Seconds and middle amber light on front of AP turns RED)

If you want to just get to the prompt set your hyperterminal settings to

Speed: 9600 bits per second (bps)

Data bits: 8

Parity: None

Stop bits: 1

Flow Control: none

and reboot as normal with no buttons pressed.

Hope this helps

George
