AP 1250 Series - Recommended switches

Good morning,

I am about to look into deploying the 1250's AP. I wish to get an idea on what would be the best switches to use that supports POE. I have started reading some documents but also wish to get other opinions.

cheers,

Mark

The E-Series Switches can provide full power to the 1252. Here is a pdf that can answer some of your other questions you might have.

Re: AP 1250 Series - Recommended switches

We're using 3560E's to power our 1252 APs.

It's my understanding that with a 24-port E chassi sswitch, you can power up to 20 e-PoE devices, and up to 40 with a 48-port E chassis switch.

You do need to configure each switch interface with "power inline port maximum 20000" so that the AP can utilize increased power.

As long as the AP is getting the correct power from the switch, then you don't. If you look at the show cdp neighbor detail on the switchport, You can see if they AP and switch negotiated correctly.
