AP 1552E Lightweight not joining WLC

I have a WLC 5508 network that works well with 1200 Series APs and now we got a 1552E AP that is in lightweight mode but doesnt join the WLC.

The AP seems to be able to get to the WLC but some how the connection is not established fully, I suspect maybe the encapsulation could be the problem let me know if you have an idea. The WLC ip is 192.168.0.17 while the AP has a static IP of 192.168.0.123.

Did you add the AP MAC to your AP Policies section of the WLC???

For a mesh access point to connect to a Cisco wireless LAN controller, you need to add the access point to the controller's MAC filtering list.

To add the access point to a controller's MAC filtering list, do one of the following:

In the Web user interface of the controller, choose the MAC filtering option (Security > AAA > MAC Filtering) and manually add the mesh access points.

The IP of the AP is 10.131.228.72

WLC is 10.131.228.17

(I have moved them to the ive environment so the 192.168.0.1/24 subnet are no longer valid)

The WLC has other APs (1200 series) ad they are OK and even we have some SSIDs that are working.

Re: AP 1552E Lightweight not joining WLC

ohhhhhh shit..............How can i forget that mesh AP will join only with single country configured WLC>

you have configured two countries on wlc:

System Timezone Location.........................

Configured Country............................... Multiple Countries:GB,KN
Operating Environment............................ Commercial (0 to 40 C)
Internal Temp Alarm Limits....................... 0 to 65 C

This AP will not join if you configured mulilpe country on WLC.

Make only one country on wlc and then try,

AP 1552E Lightweight not joining WLC

pleae confirm.

Do you only have 1 country configured on WLC.

Did you enter the mac address of mesh AP in AP Policiy Section.

If both are done then please reboot the AP and paste the all logs.

These are the only two ways that can stop AP to join WLC.

Regards
