AP 2702i as standalone access point ??

Hi all,

We just bought the AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9 a few days ago. We want to use it as a standalone AP. The problem is that the device will not let itself be configured in any way : 'conf t' doesn't work, not even after a 'debug capwap console cli'. The matter of the fact is that the AP keeps on giving out the following error message :

%CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP.

The fact is that we will not deploy this AP with a WLC. Is there any way or workaround to convert the CAP based IOS into a SAP based standalone version ?

Hi,Did you download this

Hi,

Did you download this image:

http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284362257&flowid=34153&softwareid=284180979&release=15.2.4-JB5&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest

Be aware that the autonomous IOS for the 2700 has limited functionality. Because the 2700 is new, the autonomous IOS is for wireless site-survey only.  It's not meant to service clients as of yet.

How to convert it:

yes, you can convert the CAP

yes, you can convert the CAP to SAP. Take a look at the following link that explains the process.

Thx for your fast reaction,

Thx for your fast reaction, Steve ! Unfortunately there is no K9W7 image available for this brandnew model :-( I already tried to mount a K9W7 image of a 2602 model, but that wasn't a big success either ... Any other suggestions ?

Hi Sandeep,Thx for your

Hi Sandeep,

Thx for your reaction ! Unfortunately the k9w7 SAP version is labelled Additional Entitlement Required ... Otherwise that would have probably been the only solution ...

Kind regards
