Hi all,

Some of 'n' supported ap`s (3500 & 3600) registered to 5508 wlc, automatically shows down for 5Ghz and only b/g is up. Code of wlc is 7.4.100.60.

What could be the reason..?

HI Viajy,

Can you check this:

802.11a is enabled or not?

Wireless>802.11a/n>Network

Ensuring 802.11n Rates are Enabled

Step 1 Under the `Wireless' tab on the controller GUI, click on the `802.11a/n' or `802.11b/g/n' network setting.

Step 2 Click `High Throughput (802.11n)' to open the configuration page.

Step 3 Ensure that `11n Mode' is enabled. By default, all of the MCS (or 802.11n data rates) are enabled.

By CLI:

Enable the 802.11n support on the 802.11a network.

(Cisco Controller)>config 802.11a 11nsupport enable

If its not then enable it.

Regards.

If not all AP's experience this, it can be a bug.. I have seen this in the past and see it also on v7.6 with 1142's and 2602's.  I would have to disable the access points radio and then enable it again to see the radio up.  Like on your other post, its best to go with 7.4.110.0 of 7.4.121.0.  I have noticed also that changes to the wlan will cause the radios to disable... not all, but a few and I would have to disable and enable the radios again.

Thanks,

Scott

Let me correct what I posted. It's v7.4.110.0 that we are seeing this with 1142's and 2602's, mainly 2602's.
