on the console I dont see anything, do I need to enable some commands to get console output. which debug commands will help to identify the issue

Can you please post the following command outputs:

1.  WLC:  sh sysinfo;

2.  WAP:  sh version; and

3.  WAP:  sh inventory

Console into the WAP and reboot the WAP.  Post the entire bootup process including the attempt to join or look for a valid controller.

Two problems:

Ap does not have enough power:

*Mar 1 00:11:55.941: %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - NEGOTIATED WS-C2960S-48LPS-L

And

AP does not have an IP address. Is there a configured dhcp that the ap can reach from it is subnet?

can I enter static ip from AP console

do I need any config for power on the switch, currently i have three POE device on the switch WS-C2960S-48LPS-L

POE1#show power inline

Module   Available     Used     Remaining

          (Watts)     (Watts)    (Watts)

------   ---------   --------   ---------

1           370.0       42.6       327.4

Interface Admin  Oper       Power   Device              Class Max

                            (Watts)

--------- ------ ---------- ------- ------------------- ----- ----

Gi1/0/1   auto   on         15.4    AIR-CAP3502I-E-K9   3     30.0

Gi1/0/2   auto   on         15.0    AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9  3     30.0

Gi1/0/3   auto   on         12.2    AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9  3     30.0

Here is how to configure the AP with static IP:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-18274

Note: if the command with "lwapp" keyword could not be run then try the keyword "capwap" instead in the command.

You need a PoE that is IEEE 802.11af compliant. Check if your switch is compatible with this.

Hi

Not able to configure static IP even powering ; only get following msg

Mar  1 00:12:56.326: %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - NEGOTIATED WS-C2960S-48LPS-L

*Mar  1 00:13:02.983: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Not sending discovery request AP does not have an Ip !!

*Mar  1 00:13:12.983: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Not sending discovery request AP does not have an Ip !!

*Mar  1 00:13:22.983: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Not sending discovery request AP does not have an Ip !!

1.  WLC:  sh sysinfo;

2.  WAP:  sh version; and

3.  WAP:  sh inventory

Hi Anthony,

Your output to the above commands are not complete and not correct.

I need the FIRST TWO pages of the output to the command "sh sysinfo" of the WLC.

I need the output from the WAP the commands "sh version" and "sh inventory".

*Mar  1 00:12:56.326: %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - NEGOTIATED WS-C2960S-48LPS-L

Don't worry about the power.  It's not a major issue.  We'll deal with the power AFTER the WAP has joined the WLC.

The WAP doesn't have an IP address.

In enable mode, enter the following commands:

AP#capwap ap ip address

AP#capwap ap controller ip address

Also make sure that the access point is properly powerd with the proper power supply (AIR-PWR-B), power injector (AIR-PWRINJ4) or via PoE (802.3af compliant port providing at least 15.4 W

It seems that you need to configure 'Vendor Classes' in your DHCP scope for these new 3502 APs.  What do you have for your DHCP server?  If you have DHCP in your router, you need to configure option 60.
