Can a WLC 4402-50 be upgraded to support more APs?

We currently have a WLC 4402-50 license.

We're likely to add a more APs to this controller in the near future, which will bring the total numebr of APs to 58, and so I was wondering, is this just a license that we need to purchase, or do we need to replace the WLC hardware?

I hope it's a simple as buying a license and uploading a license file.

Any advice is appreciated.

Dave.

Hi David,

Sorry, but you can not. The 4400 series are HARD coded and cant be expanded. For example, 4402-12, the 12 is the max. The 5508 series controllers (new ones) work with licenses.

So if you were to expand you would need to add another controller.

Thanks Dave
