can I install a lightweight access point using an LRE

I have an urgent need to install one access point in a building with no network infrastructure. There is a single copper pair hooked up to an old 575 LRE. It would be good if there could at least be a wep key for security, our standard is WPA2-enterprise.

I've been trying to get a 1252 autonomous access point set up but I'm having trouble getting internet connectivity. The client will associate to the AP but not get anywhere. And that's just in my lab, with a regular switch that is on the network.

Is it even possible to set up an autonomous AP through an LRE CPE? There's one ethernet port, and the LRE is sending vlan 84 from the core.

any help appreciated. bigwigs and VIP's are coming to visit our cold, dusty little town and they demand wifi!

LRE, you mean Long Range

LRE, you mean Long Range Ethernet?

What's the use?  If you use LRE what is the maximum throughput?  10 Mbps and half duplex.  So much effort wasted for something so trivial.  It's like putting lipstick on a pig.
