Can I put an AP in monitor mode for ony the 2.4 GHz interface?

I have a rather dense 5GHz AP deployment, however we're deploying dual band APs.  I can turn off half or more of the 2.4 GHz radios to keep the co-channel Interference/contention down, but would rather put the 2.4 GHz radio in monitor mode.  Has anyone ever tried that?

IIRC when you change the mode it is per AP not per radio. So if you put the AP in monitor mode it would affect 2.4GHz and 5GHz

Yeah, that is how I understand it also.  Doesn't it make sense that you might want to put a perimeter 2.4 GHz radio in monitor mode for tags and keep the 5GHz radio up for traffic?

Hi,

Yes, If you put your AP in monitor mode, this functionality applies on whole not on single band.
