Are Cisco AP's in any way restricted so they can only wireless bridge to other Cisco AP's?
I've been trying to wireless bridge my 1242 to four different AP's and the only one that will accept it and associate is my other Cisco - an AIR-AP350. The 1242 is set as the WGB and the other AP's are the root AP's. The other three, a BTHomeHub, a Belkin AP and a Netgear router will not associate, at all, even with disabled encryption. Thanks for any advice.
Re: Cisco 1242 wireless bridging to non-cisco AP's
You have to make sure all the little things are set the same.... Type of preamble, data rates, DTIM, etc. All the stuff that shows up under the radio. It's tuff, because there are no docs available. I have a WGB that connects to my cisco 871W, but it took a while.
