cisco 2960 switch ( dhcp )

Dear Team,

 

need help to configure DHCP on cisco switch can share the conf temp for DHCP server config

 

one more issue i have same model switch with lanlite ios i want to configure port with permanent ip on switch ports that is possble or not if possible can any one help me how to configure.

 

 

switch port mapping configuration temp can any one share pls i am doing this in fresh swith there is no any conf ont that switch

Hi  kamal

  2960 is a layer 2 switch there fore you canot configure ip address on this switch.you  need to buy any layer 3 switch to configure this.

i dont want to configure ip on l2 switch but i want to know port mapping is possible or not pls hlp

    Can you elaborate what exactly you want to configure as only L3 config for ip's is mgt ip that you can configure.

actually client reqiurement is if i connect multiple laptop on same switch port always i get the same ip from dhcp is there any possibility on 2960 for same ?

bcoz i dont have any idea,

so can u help 

because i have done the below conf

 

 

ip dhcp pool vlan2
   network 10.123.123.0 255.255.255.0

 

interface FastEthernet0/38
 switchport access vlan 2

ip dhcp server use subscriber-id client-id

ip dhcp use subscriber-id client-id
ip dhcp subscriber-id interface-name

 

 

ip dhcp pool vlan2
   network 10.123.123.0 255.255.255.0
   address 10.123.123.115 client-id "fa0/38" ascii

 

 

its not working

pls guide how to conf port mapping

 

 

 

try this syntax::

ip dhcp pool vlanx
   host 192.168.0.10 255.255.255.255
   client-identifier 0112.3456.7890.ab (host Mac)
   lease infinite

 

Note:

  Make sure your static ip is not in the DHCP pool.

i will to do same conf on my switch and on switch interface any conf is required.
