Cisco Air-AP1131G-A-K9 won't get any configuration!

Hi all,

I got an Air-AP1131G-A-K9 and somehow it's not getting most of the configuration on the web interface! Radio0 is off, wireless network has not been configured, and I'm changing the settings and save,... then nothing is changing! It's like I'm on read only mode, if there's any.

The Home screen on web interface doesn't contain any interface, even the Ethernet that I'm connected to it, and it's enabled.

Express Setup and Express Security pages won't save any configuration. The pages are staying the same.

Can't Enable Radio0 on Network Interfaces. On radio buttons of the Setting page the Enable is still selected but the interface is Disable/Down

The only tinhg that I was able to change and save and it's working, was adding a new Admin User.

I tried web factory reset, hardware reset, CLI erase startup, with no luck!

(Background: I got this in my work place warehouseand it's look like brand new. Everything is in the box. At the first use I wasn't able to login to the device using Cisco, Cisco and I think the Radio light was on "not sure". I reset the device using the Mode button, and now this is my issue)

Hi Ray,

You may have to assign a SSID to a radio interface, otherwise it won't come up

Here is a reference configuration if you have a PreShared Key SSID.

dot11 ssid <SSID_NAME>
   authentication open
   authentication key-management wpa version 2
   guest-mode
   wpa-psk ascii <Preshared_Key>
!
interface Dot11Radio0
 encryption mode ciphers aes-ccm
 ssid <SSID_NAME>
 no shutdown

!
interface Dot11Radio1
 encryption mode ciphers aes-ccm
 ssid <SSID_NAME>
 no shutdown

Boot it us while monitoring in CLI. Make sure AP boots properly & you can view the running configuration.

If possible try to config changes via CLI (most reliable way of configuring these)

OK, How can I enable Radio0 on CLI? I tried shut/no shut. No luck!

Thank you so much Rasika,

Radio is working now but the web interface is still the same! Is there anyway to fix that? Like upgrade firmware of device or something else?

This is my device details:

System Software Filename:c1130-k9w7-tar.124-10b.JA
System Software Version:12.4(10b)JA
Bootloader Version:12.3(8)JEA

Glad to see that helps you.

You can try to upgrade to this version (last supported version) & see.

 c1130-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA2.tar

Anyway I would not too much rely on GUI & get config done via CLI. If you need any assistance with any configuration you can give us a shout

Upgrade to  c1130-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA2.tar  fixed the GUI issue.

However that's all I was about to do. Just use the device as an access point in our new building with no additional setting.

Many thanks Rasika, You're the best and fastest ;)

Very good :)

Thanks for the complements as well

Cheers

Rasika
