Cisco AIR CAP3502I E K9--- standalone Config

Hello good people. I have recently bought Cisco AIR CAP3502I E K9 but i am seeing that it can only work with WLAN controller. How can I make it work as a stand alone.

Your help will be appreciated.

one last problem is how do i stop renew of IP address.

I have assigned the address manually but its being overwritten by the DHCP ip which renews afters a minute.

Solving this should make me a happy man.

Here is how to configure an ip address to the bvi1 interface.

Command

Purpose

Step 1

configure terminal

Enter global configuration mode.

Step 2

interface bvi1

Enters interface configuration mode for the BVI.

Step 3

ip address ip_address net_mask

Assigns an IP address and subnet mask address to the BVI.

Happy New year,

My 3502 AP is not accepting config t

on show int brief its also showing Ge0 only and  no bvi is shown.

What do i need to do for it to accept config t command

I have entered the following command

debug capwap console cli

and have manged to configure the ip address for Ge0 manually

This address is however renewed after some few minutes to a dhcp assigned  which is also continously renewed.

What should i do to stabilise this assignment.

What are you trying to do?  3500 does NOT "support" autonomous IOS.  When I mean "support", I mean you can load autonomous IOS but don't get Cisco TAC to help you with any configuration issues.

Got the autonomous IOS running now.

last issues is how do i enbale POe.

The deployment place has no power but the network cable has been laid to the place.

its running 1260 IOS

You don't need to enable PoE on the AP's.  If your switch is PoE then it should power up your AP.  If your switch isn't PoE, then you can't enable anything, you will need to use a power injectior or an AC power adapter.

You sure about this model?  Can you post the output to the command "sh inventory" of your switch?

Cisco DOES NOT make a 2960G model with PoE.  Except the 2960S, all 2960 PoE variety are 10/100BaseTx.

If this is the case, then in order to power up the 3500 you'll need to either purchase a power brick or the PWR-INJ3.
