Cisco Aironet 1100 and IPhone

I have a cisco Aironet 1100 Access point setup with WEP security. I also have a Proxim AP-600 Access point in the same location, seperated between levels if the bulding with the same SSID. My windows workstations can connect to the closer signal for a strong signal but I have several IPhones that wont find the Cisco 1100 access point and always connect to the proxim which is farther away. Even when sitting next to the Cisco the IPhones wont connect it it.

Both AP's have different channels set and the same WEP key

Try disabling the option Aironet Extension on the interfaces page. Clients always doesnt't look for signal strength alone it also checks the load [no.of.clients] and other when choosing an access point.

YES!!! That was it. my iPhone is now successfully connecting to that access point.

What does that Aironet Extension do anyway?
