Cisco aironet 1130g

How to back up  IOS of Aironet 1130g access point (light weight ios)

Re: Cisco aironet 1130g

Hi,

you cannot. And the reason is that there shouldn't be a need for that.

The AP will download its IOS image everytime it connects to the controller.

Re: Cisco aironet 1130g

Is there a another way to do that. Because we don't have a WLC ,so i

would be glad if you could tell me to do this in another way.

Where can we find 12.3.11 JA4

thank you

Re: Cisco aironet 1130g

Why are you trying to back up a lightweight image if you don't have a WLC ?

Would you mean by any chance that you received lightweight APs and you want to convert them to IOS ??

if that is the case, here is the procedure :

debug lwapp console cli

archive download-sw /f /o tftp://

that's it !

It might be that you have to change the "debug lwapp console cli" with "debug capwap console cli", it depends what the AP is running

Re: Cisco aironet 1130g

Thanks for the advice,

After typing that command i can go to configure mode so that is this

mean that i can configure the access point (SSID,WEP etc) without

changing the IOS. also what does mean by dot11Radio 0??

How can we give an interface number to dot11Radio..and when i give

this command it gives an out put saying invalid command why is that?

Thank you

Re: Cisco aironet 1130g

considering above mail you sent me..

We are asked to backup the lightweight image before changing it..

yes we got it with lightweight mode and without changing it we cannot

use it, Do you know how to do it ?

again thank you

Re: Cisco aironet 1130g

It looks like you can configure it with the command I gave you but do NOT do it. Lightweight APs are not meant for that.

Just upload a normal IOS with the command I gave you and you will be good to go. There's no need to backup the current image as it's a lightweight one and you don't want that.

as simple as that.
