Cisco AP 2602 joined with vWLC but there is no Wireless.

Hello all,

I have the following challange.

I deployed Cisco vWLC 7.5.102.0 and joined two AP Cisco 2602E which I successfully converted from AP to LAP. Both APs joined vWLC, enabled and show "operational status" REG. On vWLC I enabled broadcast SSID, checked radio 802.11a/b/g/n (enabled) and other things.

But I do not see any SSID (radio signal).

I tried different devices to find SSID (iPhone, Samsung Android phone, Laptop HP (InSSIDer application)).

It looks very strange for me because previousely when I deployed WLC-2500, once I join AP and enabled Radio - I was able to see SSID.

Will be glad to your ideas and ready to provide logs and screenshots.

Few things...

  • Make sure your not using AP Groups or else you have to place those AP's in the appropriate AP Group
  • Make sure that the AP is in FlexConnect mode, since the vWLC only supports FlexConnect
  • If you have multiple country codes defined on the vWLC, that might also have an affect on what channel and power is available

If you still have issues, then post the following:

show ap summary

show wlan <wlan id>

Hi Scott Fella,

The problem was with FlexConnect. I changed mode and wireless appeared.

Thank you very much for your help!
