Hi team ,
I am using WCS Version 6.0.170.0 . I am unable to login using the root password .
I tried to reset the password using the below step
StopWcs
D:\Program Files\<WCS root folder >\bin\passwd root-user <PASSWORD>
StartWcs
Once after executing the passwd root-user command there is no change happening . I have seen in some docs that while executing the command the CLI will give the command output as updating the new password .
I am not able to change the user password . is this a known bug . has some one came across this issue
Regards

Can you post a screen shot? Your using root as the username and the new password you used during the recovery? After resetting the password, you should see something like this:
Initializing...
Updating root password.
This may take a few minutes...
Successfully updated root user

Hi Scot / Christos
I tried the password recovery option in step by step manner .
When i have given the D:\Program Files\<WCS root folder >\bin\passwd root-user <PASSWORD> command i am not getting any output .
As scott informed i should see the logs like
Initializing...
Updating root password.
This may take a few minutes...
Successfully updated root user
Is the step what i am following is correct
StopWcs
D:\Program Files\<WCS root folder >\bin\passwd root-user <PASSWORD>
StartWcs

Your command should be passwd.bat root-user <new password>.
I think you miss the .bat in your command.

Hi
I tried using the passwd.bat root-user <new password> command and also passwd root-user <new password>
But both are giving me the same result .
I am not seeing any logs stating the new password is set

Have you tried to reboot the Win 2003 server and running the task again in administrator mode.
