Just leave dynamic ap manager, there is no need to uncheck that. A

Re: Cisco WLC 2500 AP-Manager

Johan:

The ap manager interface is the interface used for the L3 capwap tunnel between the wlc and the AP.

If LAG feature is ipused (not supported with 2500 wlc) then one AP managent interface is able to handle all the APs.

If LAG is not in use then each ap manager interface can handle up to 48 APs only.

With your 2500 wlc the max number of APs is always less than 48 sonly one ap manager interface should be enough and no need for another one (but it still can be configured).

Look into this: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.0/configuration/guide/c70mint.html#wp1117288

Re: Cisco WLC 2500 AP-Manager

For a 2504 that max out at 50 APs, there is no reason you need to define an ap manager interface. There is no benefit at all.

Re: Cisco WLC 2500 AP-Manager

On the old WLC models like 2100, 2006,4400 we had to configure the management interface for managing the WLC and the AP manager so that the APs could create the LWAPP or CAPWAP tunnel to the WLC.

On the new model of WLCs like the 2500,5508 the AP manager interface is not required, the management interface if it has the check for dynamic interface it will work at the same time as the AP manager interface.

Here is the link where you can check on how to deploy the 2504 WLC and the different setups to use with several AP managers.
