Clients fail during WiSM redundancy

Dear all,

I have WiSM A and B setup in a mobility group. According to the GUI everything is available and works quite nicely. On both WoSMs I have the same identical WLANs (SSIDs) setup with WiSM interfaces in the same VLAN.

Now, what happens when WiSM A revoots is that all APs instantaneously fall over to WiSM B. This is what I want. All the clients are also visible on WiSM B. However, WiSM B does not learn the IP adresses of the clients (do not know if this is needed for redundancy or only for REAP) and no client can communicate.

What could be the probolem here?

Re: Clients fail during WiSM redundancy

Hi

1-All controllers must be in the same mobility group

2- Dynamic interfaces for the same Vlan of the users exists on both controllers?

3- the same authentication exist on profile (WLAN) for WiSMs?

4- access Points needs 2 to 3 minutes to join the back WLC and the user needs also 2 to 3 minutes to join the access points

5- check your network configuration under all controllers (WisMs) and make sure that all the Vlans are allowed on the trunk.

If the above are ok I think your redundant solution will work properly

Thanks,

Elie
