Clients not disconnected from the WAP (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9) after Logoff the PC.
How (or who) can I configure a time out parameter for Users they have Logoff his PC, but still connected with the WAP (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9, Version 12.3(8)JEC). On our WAP we can see 50 WAP Users (connected via SSID "guest-net") but only 15 User are online, the rest of the connections are not used anymore. Is there a possibility (Parameter) to avoid such connections. The Problem is that the we are facing performence issues with these WAPs.
Re: Clients not disconnected from the WAP (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9) aft
If you mean that the windows user is logged off but the PC still connected, then the answer is on windows side. From the AP side, if the client is still connected and still sending traffic, it will stay associated. The AP has no way to figure out that the user logged out.
A way to handle such things is usually to go with dot1x authentication of users. So then if you log off your user account in windows, it logs off the wireless too usually.
