Cloud based wireless solution w/ 100+ AP's per location

Greetings, we are currently have 40+ locations in Europe and a mix of Cisco WLC's for corporate/guest wireless access and Motorola WLC's to support factory operations such as handheld scanners. We want to advertise corporate and guest SSID's in the factories but not factory SSID's in the offices and also switch traffic locally rather than tunnel it back through the controller, CAPWAP traffic across the WAN isnt a probelm.

We want to collapse all of our existing controllers into a single solution managed by at least 2 centralised controllers for redundancy and potentially split across two locations for cross site resilience.

Have been looking into the 7500 controller but it states that it can only support 100 AP's per flexconnect group, this wouldn’t be an issue for most sites however we would also need to cover a couple HQ locations that have at least 200 AP's per site.

Is it be possible to create 2 or more flexconnect groups for a single location or would we have to consider deploying 5500 series controllers and running them in H-REAP mode?

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has deployed a similar solution.

Regards

Yes you can have more than one FlexConnect Group per site. You just have to place the APs in the correct group because roaming from one group to another will cause a full reauth. FlexConnect Groups are used for key caching when using 802.1x.
